COVID-19 Mitigation

Dear Patients,

I hope you and your families are continuing to stay healthy and are dealing with the pandemic well. I have good news to share regarding our practice: we reopened the week of June 1st! I also want to share with you the steps we will be taking to ensure that we all stay safe.

Over the next few weeks, we will be calling all our patients to schedule appointments. We will be asking a series of questions relating to your health, contacts, and travel. At your visit, each patient will be screened again in accordance with CDC and RIDH screening guidelines.

On your appointment day, each patient must wait in their car before their visit and call the office prior to entering the building. As much as we love having family and friends accompany our patients into the office, only the patient will be allowed to enter. When called in, each patient must wear a mask. They will be greeted in the sub waiting area. We will provide hand sanitizer for your hands and have your forehead temperature taken with an infra-red thermometer. You will be escorted directly to an operatory where you will remain for the entire visit. The doors are kept closed for your safety. Once instructed you will be able to remove you mask while in the room.

You may wish to bring a light sweater in case you feel our temperature is cool.  The lower temperature is necessary for us due to the extra additional PPE we need to wear when treating all patients.

Just as we ask that you take additional precautions, our office is putting additional steps in place for your safety.  These include but are not limited to the following:

All staff will take the same questionnaire and have their temperature read daily.

Patients will be treated one at a time, and I will not be moving room to room while during an individual patient’s visit.

All clinical staff will wear N95 of KN95 masks, eye protection and gowns during all procedures.

Chair usage will be alternated so no patient will immediately follow a previous patient into a particular operatory (for example, after Patient 1 uses Room 1, Patient 2 will use Room 2 (and not Room 1)).

The rooms will have HEPA air purifying units in use and ultraviolet light to kill the virus.

We use high volume suction to reduce aerosols during all procedures.

The operatories are disinfected in accordance with CDC and RIDH guidelines. Before and after each patient.

A UVC light is employed in each operatory, reception area and office area at the end of each day.

We care about your health and safety, and with your cooperation we will continue to provide the high-quality dentistry that you deserve and have come to expect from us! We thank you for your patience!
